I know it is somewhat late for this, but better late than never.
I received four wonderful full-length stories for
yuletide:
In mountains that are stacked with fear (1016 words) by
haipollaiChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
King & Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men (Song)Rating: Not Rated
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Woman in Red (King and Lionheart), Lionheart (King and Lionheart), and Child in Red (King and Lionheart)
Additional Tags: Dystopia, Fate & Destiny, Pre-Canon
Summary: There had once been cities, grand and beautiful, with spires that reached upward and glinted in the sunlight. Their gods had smiled down at them from faces carved in stone. There had once been so much sunlight.
This is a lovely and appropriately atmospheric piece.
Woman in Red (3039 words) by
clare_dragonflyChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
King and Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men (music video)Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Woman In Red, Child In Red
Additional Tags: Backstory, Sexual Harassment
Summary: A woman has a child. She doesn't like her circumstances, so she changes them, but their new land isn't much better.
This story explores more of what kind of world the song/vid are set in. Atmospheric in an interestingly different way than the first.
Causa Pulchritudinis (1334 words) by
QuilloriChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
Sulamith Wulfing - WorksRating: General Audiences
Warnings: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Maugris
Additional Tags: treat, Chansons, The Four Sons of Aymon (after a fashion)
Summary: Fragments from a lost chanson, dealing with the life of Maygis.
This amazing treat is captures the delicacy, numinousness and aching beauty of Wulfing's work. This is a jewel of a piece, and deserves far more attention than it has so far gotten. So many things I love: stars, gorgeous language, word-pictures, hinted-at depths, the intersection of the seen and unseen.
The One Moving Into Battle (1118 words) by
skazkaChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
Two Men Contemplating the Moon - Caspar David FriedrichRating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Man In Cloak (Two Men Contemplating The Moon), Man in Coat (Two Men Contemplating the Moon)
Additional Tags: Lunar Weirdness, Transcendent Experiences, Ambiguous Relationships, Yuletide Treat
Summary: Two friends pause together briefly.
Another treat, another piece that touches my heart deeply. I want to know more of these men's story, but everything I need to know is right here, beautifully and delicately painted. This is another piece that deserves much more love than it has gotten.
The delightful fic I was given in the
hlh_shortcuts exchange was
A Caper a Day by
pat_t. And a romping caper it is, too.
I wrote things as well -
For Yuletide I wrote my assignment, a pinch-hit and 10 drabbles as part of the YUletide MAdness DRabble INitiative (#yumadrin).
Persistence (1716 words) by
lferionChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
Ötzi the Iceman RPFRating: General Audiences
Warnings: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Ötzi
Additional Tags: Names, Archaeology, Yuletide 2013, Yuletide
Summary: He wanted to live.
This was my assignment-piece. Though, as far as I can tell, the person I wrote it for has not read it, but other people like it, so while I am sorry if the person I wrote it for did not like it, (and I hope she found things she did in this years many excellent offerings), I got some lovely comments and kudos from people who did, so that's all right.
Hope in a Tear (1244 words) by
lferionChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
King and Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men (music video)Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Woman in Red (King and Lionheart), Child in Red (King and Lionheart), Lionheart (King and Lionheart)
Additional Tags: kingship, Siblings, Yuletide 2013, Yuletide
Summary: Lionhearts were rare, as rare as Kings. The tears of both rarer.
Pinch-hit. I leapt on this like lightning. During signups I had been very happy to see that someone else asked for King and Lionheart besides me, because I was as interested in writing a piece for it as receiving one. Strix_Alba's request was a splendid one to work from.
Dance of Sun and Moon (100 words) by
lferionFandom:
Rabiosa - Shakira (Music Video)Summary: Moon is drawn to Sun, light to dark.
Name and Nameless (100 words) by

Unexpected (100 words) by
lferionFandom:

-This one I have faint hopes of expanding/continuing into a whole story. I have more written at any rate. Who knows if I'll manage to do anything with it.
