I'm sorry... I listened and watched through his entire spiel on the matter, and I don't understand the stated connection to the war in Iraq. Explain it to me?

Sorry, my inner economist. . .

I don't see costs in terms of dollars and cents. I see cost at least in this case in terms of man hours. I think that U.S. man hours would be better spent helping Burma.

I'm not a big fan of Sadam Hussein. . .but I do think that there are others that might welcome our attention even more than the Iraqis would. . .

But that's just me. Chalk it up to being a wanna be Washingtonian Econ-wonk.

The USA seems to have few or no interests in the region. Economically speaking, it would be a black hole to consider investing that kind of manpower and money (for materials, munitions, fuel and such) to invade Burma. We rarely do anything militarily that does not benefit US interests. Especially, economically. One reason why, in every major military action we've undertaken, we leave a military presence in each location around the globe ( ... )

Can we pick up this convesation some other time. . .

I've had a marginally good week over all, and a tough time focusing.

I know you have a lot of valid points. I know I've heard a lot that's valid from the other side. . .

In 12 hours I'm going to re-edit this post and delete all comments. . .It's nothing personal. I'm just not up for this right now.
