Opinions wanted
As some of you may know, myself and Aeryn have written a few Sherlock Holmes fics for our own edification and improvement. Well today we got this in our combo email...and...well...opinions would be welcome please...
I'm writing to you here as a big fan of your Sherlock Holmes fictions.
I'm the head of an up-and-coming young scriptwriting team, and we would
love to adapt your writings into screenplays - we are even now forging
links with the BBC.
We would update the stories into the modern era, with our own characters
replacing Holmes and Watson (sacrilege, I know), but the plotline and
secondary characters could remain untouched.
As I said before, we would appreciate your support in this venture.

My immediate reation was cynicism and suspicion. Actually no, to be honest my immediate reaction was to stare at it while OMG!! flashed across my brain. Then a big fat NO as common sense followed by said cynicism and suspicion kicked in.
Basically I'm thinking that this is :
a) some kind of circular with a 'fill in fiction category here' section in order to glean other peoples stories to use...or
b) just one big fat lot of hooey as there's no 'name' of any organisation and too much vagueness..."even now forging links" eh?
There is a contact name and email obviously, but frankly I can't see how our plots would work in the modern era or without Holmes & Watson, as the stories, both in terms of mystery and personality are sort of intrinsic to them.
Would be interested to know if anyone else has received anything similar, or knows of someone else who has!
