In the previous modly post, knittinggoddess left the following comment:I understand!
In that case, if anyone has interest in co-moderating a new comm, leave a comment to this one.
In the interest of having a "clean" entry with comments only about this subject, I thought I'd made a separate post for it ( Read more... )

I'd also be willing to help out - not sure I'd have time to co-mod if there's only one or two other people, but if it's a group effort I'd love to lend a hand. I loved LGBTFest and I think fandom in general needs something like it.

Excellent. What in particular did you like about it? What parts of the setup do you not want to change?

Hi! I'm happy to see people talking about a new comm because I've gotten so much out of lgbtfest.

Personally I would really love it if the comm were open to other fanworks like podfics, art, and vids. I understand if that's not the way the new mods want to go but I think it would make it a welcoming place for more fans. Good luck with everything!

My only hesitation with other media is that I haven't seen it tell a story very thoroughly, only a snapshot of a character, and so don't know how well the media would lend itself to fulfilling the prompt. I wouldn't be opposed to prompts specifying other formats as an option or requirement, so long as other prompts could specify that the fill had to be prose. I would LOVE to see a comic or graphic novel fill! There was a wonderful Calvin and Hobbes fic last year that would have been even better if it was told in comic strip format.

And if you have an example of a fanvid that truly does tell a story, I'd happily enjoy it once I get to a faster internet connection.

::jumps up and down in excitement::

Not only comics or graphic novels, but also photographed action figure stories with dialogue in balloons (there have been some hilarious ones in SGA). So ... we have yet another category. Yikes!
