Does it drive anyone else nuts when someone's orientation, either sexual orientation or gender orientation, is the be all and end all of what a person talks about and seems to be the ONLY thing they identify as?  For me, being bi is just part of me.  Sure, I enjoy exploring the lgbtq community and culture.  On the other hand, I'm a geek, a ( Read more... )

How do I put this... it's not coming out or the gay community or the obsession with things gay when a person is first coming out that bug me. It's when those things, especially if it has been awhile, seem to be the be all and end all of a person's existence. It's the difference between it being "a big thing in [your] life at the moment" and it, at least seemingly, being your life.
