No, I didn't get shotUnrelatedly, my attitude toward Livejournal has softened a little. The advertisements still annoy me tremendously, and I plan to keep all my useful writing on the Dreamwidth account. However, I won't delete the LJ posts, and I will post mundane updates giving the details of my life on both journals, when I resume writing them

I was a little more tolerant of LJ when it was just banner ads plastered all over the place, but now that I'm on unpaid status, the random access to my full icon list and the 1-minute delay ads really are pretty grating. I wasn't aware of those. Am torn between forking over the money to switch my permanent account around, which is not free at all, or gritting my teeth and ignoring things in perpetuity. The latter actually sounds kind of appealing.

I found that LJ became less annoying when I started treating it as just another over-monetized website, one among many. As it happens, I don't want to submit heartfelt writing to just-another-website... I don't want it monetized in this fashion. *shrugs* Not caring also seems like a reasonable response.
