Surprise? (Probably not.) I am having serious thoughts about going back to school for Conservation Biology/Ecology or Environmental Science. It's still entirely an idea, as I'm trying to sort out the logistics and thoughts of where to go/how the hell will I pay for this?/am I really going to subject myself to four more years of college?/a student ( Read more... )

school, starting over, conservation biology, life direction, environmental science, ecology

I say go back. As far as payment I have no clue; I'm sure you can find somebody willing to pay for it if you look hard enough.

I'm looking into so many options right now, it's overwhelming.

BIO is nothing new; I was very close to majoring in it the first time around. The difference now is that I'm more interested in things like Ecology, whereas before I wanted to be a veterinarian.

There's a program in Britain that is geared towards non-biology graduates. I'm trying to hunt down more information.

I seem to have an affinity for islands. Places I've traveled: London, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic.

I'm going back to PR in a few weeks. I can't wait.

you should try looking at Scandinavian universities. Education is free and super high-quality. you only need to take care of living expenses...

This is more geared towards Masters Courses of which all the European countries have opened up after 2000. Undergraduate studies would still be in some nordic language.

random googling brought me to http://www.teknat.uu.se/forskning/program.php?vetenskapsid=1&forskomr=3&id=177&lang=en
in sweden.

I would also check out University of Oslo, Trondheim, Copenhagen and other major cities and corr unis out there.
