It's more like a lifestyle. If you're not from southwest michigan, you will never understand all the inside jokes associated with tourists, lol.

Hahaha, FIBs...

and woodruff, and woodland.... and i get a lot of jokes about playing a woodwind too....

"oh it's woody the woodwind!"

and if i get asked if i'm related to mr woodard again, i'm going to scream. what's really funny is at least 3 times annually mrs hildebrandt asks me that

Or there's that icky Livernois. LIVERNOI PEOPLE. LIVER-NOY. Like Illinois. ELLA-NOY. Or, if you're really tricky... liver-nwah. oo French.

Like, Sean.. what's up with the micompband "States" thing. Ugh. Freakin' East Side (how I am going to succumb to your ways in the next three years... ugh).

I mentioned the FIPs in my speech in a ...semi-nice way.

also, they mention jenison.

"I'm not sure this is unique to Michigan, but when asking for the location of something, we often use the noun "whereabouts" as a question. "I live near Jenison." "Oh, yeah? Wherebouts?" Also popular, according to "bolth" Juanita and Kalamazoo Joe: "Goin' drinkin' tonight? Where at?" Yeah, uhh, most other people just say "Where?""
