MINATO [AU] || OPEN || What's the hook, the twist--
[ Headphones hummed softly, and the owner of them didn't seem to really be paying the music as much mind as he was the newspaper currently unfolded on the table in front of him. His expression is quite unreadable; it's hard to tell if he meant to be here, or not.
Maybe you know the boy. ... Or maybe you don't. Either way... whether or not he knows you is all a matter of just how much he wants HIMSELF to be known, period.
Peculiar things have been happening all over lately, as the paper in front of him would state. The inside article reads something about a series of unsolved, professional-looking murders. The reporter would speculate that the owner of a site called Revenge Request, oftentimes regarded as a mere urban legend (until people tried it, though anyone who had merely been curious had never seen any proof the owners did what was asked), was the one behind it. The person (or group) who maintained this mysterious, anonymous request forum and site was, of course, rumored to be a highly skilled assassin (or group of vigilantes) who for all intents and purposes must have had former military experience.
The murders before this one had all been too clean... and there had been no witnesses. Then the very same sort of murder seems to have happened again, in the Port Island area. Truly, how often did you hear about a murder on Port Island, anyway...? The article would also remark that many, MANY hits had been going on all over Japan, and that the site itself seemingly took the requests for assassinations at random.
Some lauded the vigilante (or vigilante group) as "[an] angel of justice," for they only killed those who truly deserved to die. Some thought of them as mere thugs and scum... but no matter what one thought on the topic, it would be hard not to notice these odd murders happening all around. Crime solvers had been unable to even pinpoint an exact pattern or area for the killings, and as no evidence had ever been left at the scenes, no one had ever been brought in for questioning.
Strange happenings, indeed.
But if they bothered the boy currently reading the local paper outside a café, he did not show it. The boy himself was something of an oddity, wearing a scarf and a long black coat. Currently, the coat lay at rest next to him on the back of his chair, and it was easy to see the white, simple dress shirt he had underneath it. Simple black slacks and shoes completed the look. He was well-dressed, but not overly so. He gave off the impression of a young man who cared a good deal about how he carried himself.
Or so it seemed, anyway. He pauses, taking something out of his pocket, opening the lid of a bottle of some sort of medication, which he then proceeds to put in his mouth and take with his coffee nearby before setting it back down. ]
... "Could it be just a rumor after all, or could these events be related?"
[ The blue-haired boy shakes his head a bit, as if amused. He knew better than to think that the site where you could put out a hit on anyone--yes, anyone--was a rumor. But then, that kept the notoriety of it if lots of rumors about it were flying around, the truth would be easily obscured, and he encouraged any rumor, so long as it didn't tarnish their reputation... so to speak. ]
