So, this is my first time writing for the sm_monthlychallenges, but I was inspired when I should have been going to sleep (as usual). I wrote this quickly, but it wouldn't have become what it is without the help of galaxylily(zellie) and elvisvf101. Now that this has been extracted from my brain, I can get back to my other fics!

*sniff* OMG. Someone needs bromance, stat. Ugh. I like the detail that Usagi's friends have infiltrated her life so completely that they are now infiltrating his, and that he has no one on his side that is comparable. Please write the antidote now, wherein Mamoru bails on his fiancee for a Guy's Night of shooting pool and watching football and doing Jagerbombs or something equally stupid.

I'm just waiting for another theme that strikes my fancy. Maybe he'll bring them back. But all I can seem to write lately is angst. I wonder why? ; )

Very good character study of Mamoru and how, even though he has Usagi, on one level he is very alone.

Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath before lifting the glass; he would never truly be one of the senshi, but once, he had belonged.

This sentence breaks my heart, the implication that he'll never belong again.

And I agree, Zellie helped me with that bit; but when I
started writing this fic, I thought of this sticker I have from way back in high school. In it is every senshi and the Starlights and Mamoru and it made me think, "He's one guy who's surrounded by a lot of ({}) (as V would put it)" and Voila...fic.

Now if I could only get this song out of my head.

Bu- but...but it started out so HAPPY. And I thought she was going to surprise him with something cute, but instead...*sniffle* he goes all sad and lonely! Just because they're in rocks doesn't mean they can't have fun too! If anything, it'll be cheap when Mamoru has to buy the rounds!!! And if they go to a game, they can split one ticket between five (come on, who's gonna charge a ROCK admission?)
