Back among the living

Had a pretty bad bout of depression and anxiety again, but seem to be coming out of it now. Two days without thinking of suicide, woo :> (I take my victories where I can get them ( Read more... )

People are observant...about things that matter to them. Even Sherlock Holmes admitted to that. (And while his priorities were indeed far-ranging, he too admitted to deliberately cultivating shortcomings in his own knowledge.)

I'd expect that from Holmes, probable Aspie that he is.

Really sorry that you've been having to deal with that, and I hope you come completely out of it. *hug* I've been feeling depressed myself although not suicidally so (I haven't thought about suicide for a very long time, fortunately), so maybe it's the season or something.

Also: WOOT, I know somebody famous! :D

Thank you :) It's been happening more and more often for the past couple of years, to be honest. Every couple of months I seem to hit a bad low. And as ridiculous as it is to say, I think stress over comics does contribute to it -- in the past there was always something for me to look forward to and enjoy, and now DC is actively stressing me out all the time. I don't really know what to do.

Just Internet-famous, which probably won't get me any cool stuff :>

We are micro-celebrities! Hear us squeak!

Back to more serious stuff...I'm glad to see you perservering/enduring and holding onto some degree of humour. It helps. Thank you.

Thank you :) Yeah, I kind have to as a coping mechanism -- as soon as my mood lifts a bit, I cling to that like crazy to keep things from going south again. It really can help. Plus, I like making people laugh.

Yes, there's me, and....well, I'm pretty much the only Top fan :>

Sometimes, I think I may be the only Wild Dog fan actively owning up to the fact...

I'm sure I've heard of other Wild Dog fans. There was a guy going on about him in my comic shop a while back.

*snicker* Kinda like how I knew who you were on deviantArt by your user name? Yeah. Manapul's probably already in the process of getting a restraining order specifically against you ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your depression :( *hugs* I'll send Lenny over so you can hug the stuffing out of him ^^

Pretty much :> And yeah, since I've criticized the Flash book at Speed Force (which I know he reads) and at Tumblr (which I suspect he used to read), and he's made comments specifically about unhappy Rogues fans AND Top fans, I don't doubt for a second that he's annoyed at me personally. That's one reason I avoid him (awkward when he's at every con I go to and shows up unannounced at local comic shops...).

Thank you, I really appreciate all the support :) *hugs*

Wait...you think he read your Tumblr? o_o What kind of comments has he made about unhappy Rogues fans? Is he trying to alienate EVERYone?

He has a Tumblr of his own, and I'm pretty sure Katze directed him to mine before the reboot. It's to be expected, since Tumblr is the core of Rogues fandom these days. I'd be surprised if he he *didn't* check out a bunch of the Rogue-related Tumblrs to see what people think, and he's clearly well aware (as you'll see in his comments) that there are critical Rogues fans.

I've written up his earlier iffy comments here:
http://liabrown.livejournal.com/451802.html

I've got no clue why he's made some of these comments; maybe he thinks no one's paying attention, or maybe he's just that pissed at us. DC and Marvel in general have been kind of disrespectful to fans in recent years (Rick Remender makes openly assholish comments to people, and Tom Brevoort can be kind of a dick, as can Peter David), perhaps under the belief that we'll buy the books anyway.

Yeah, but they had to become aware of that through my complete and utter predictability :>

Yeah, my mood goes up and down at the moment. Sorry that you've been having problems too :( Are you still taking the St John's Wort?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that :\ Is there any kind of financial aid you can get?

Glad you're enjoying TV these days, though :)
