So much of what you say here is like an echo of my own thoughts and feelings. You're getting through this and you'll get through it.

I used to take pride in the idea that I had a family who accepted each other and got along so much better than most families I know.

Now I come to find out the majority of that, specifically the relationship between my older sister and I, was based on her substance abuse more than anything. Now that she's sober, I feel like she hardly knows me.
