Wawa = made of awesome

So you think 7-11 is a convenience store, hmmm?

7-11 isn't even in the same league as Wawa, the most AMAZING convenience store in the WORLD. Wawa stores are found in 5 Mid-Atlantic states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. They're named after the town of Wawa, Pennsylvania, where the store originated. They were a huge ( Read more... )

basically anything that is awesome

I love WaWa. We have three within a couple of miles. Their decaf hazelnut coffee is so good! I can't believe there is an LJ community, though! lol

I know, isn't it hysterical that there's an LJ community and the Times article says the myspace group has like, 5,000 members! People really do go crazy for Wawa.

I never much thought about how much I love it until I moved to DC after law school. There was one on the corner next to my apartment, and I passed it on the way to and from school every day. *sigh* Those were the days!

I don't even drink coffee except a latte once a month, but on Sunday I bought a small bag of Wawa brand coffee to brew at home, that's how excited I was to find a Wawa down here!

I am actually scared of moving out of New Jersey, simply because the thought of being in a Wawa-less area TERRIFIES me.

I definitely took them for granted when I lived in the area! I used to give people driving directions for a back way to the shore with reference only to Wawa (like, go over the Barry bridge. When you pass the second Wawa, make the next right. Follow until you pass the Dennisville Wawa, then turn left. At the next Wawa, turn left. Go straight. In four minutes you will be in Avalon). But it helps knowing that there's one within a semi-easy driving distance.

Yeah, I would love to live in Mass. or somewhere abroad, but honestly? "No Wawa" is among the things on my "Con" list.

I think I need a Wawa icon.

They have WaWa's down in southern Maryland where my dad lives now. It was pure joy to see that when I went down to visit. It was like a little piece of home was with me in the middle of no-where. ::sigh:: I lurve WaWa.

Oh, that's great for your Dad! And for you when you visit!

It's funny how we both associate Wawa with being home, isn't it? That's exactly how I felt when I came across one down here on Sunday. Wawa actually advertises on WTOP (the KYW 1060 equivalent for DC), and I used to be really bitter that I could hear ads ("And this is the Wawa pedal!"), and still I lived hours away from one. Not anymore! Yay!!

Hi! I was just browsing in opalescence_'s f-list and had to comment here. I am from Philly (live in Ohio now, no Wawa - ACK!) and Wawa is the best thing since sliced bread in my book. :) Their hazelnut coffee with tons of cream and sugar was my hangover cure, and their meatball hoagie is just incredibly yummy. Whenever I go home to visit my parents (in Ardmore), I have to stop in and just bask in the Wawa glow. :)

I see we also have a few other friends in common. Mind if I Friend you?

Hi! I am friending you back right now! We do have a lot of friends in common, and I'm so glad you commented here! Welcome!

Wow, Ardmore! :) My grandmom is from Narberth, and I lived with her for a while after college, and my mom's aunt & uncle lived in Ardmore! My mom is from Chester (back when it was mostly Italian) and my dad is from SW Philly (when it was tons of Irish), and they met and moved down to the shore, where I grew up. I went to law school at Villanova (I see you were at VU too!), and I lived in Bryn Mawr (the Delco side, since I was a student! :D ) So we have lots in common, more than just our love of Wawa! ;)

So how do you like living in Ohio, being from Philly? I'm kind of thinking about moving to the midwest, for the right job. I have my eye on something in Peoria. Scott Rolen was a big fan of the Midwest compared to Philly, but booooooo on him! He probably never stepped foot in Wawa. That would explain it. ;)
