I had an absolutely delightful time at my cousin's wedding yesterday (the one who is 11 years younger than me). My extended family is so much fun and I got to visit with 20+ of my first cousins (I have more than 30 ( Read more... )

I am so sorry that your family does not appreciate you! Their loss, babe.

They make margarita-flavored jelly beans? Cool! But I think I'd rather just have an actual margarita...

It's such a shame that families don't always treat each other well. I mean, come on!

My bio-mom's family is full of little feuds and fights. It's one of the reasons I've remained at arm's length, I think. Who needs that stuff? The world is hard enough. Family should be a refuge, not something you need a refuge from.

Oh, poor thing. I know what you mean about being under appreciated. In my family it's all about my nephew. I was a free babysitter for my brother and his wife for two and a half years and I did it because I love the little rascal that is my nephew. And I mean, I used to watch him every single day, planned or at the drop of a hat (in addition to working on a college degree). But honestly, I'm not going to take my nephew outside to play for two hours when it's 95 frickin' degrees! Anyway, got into a big fight with his mother because I let him watch TV since I wasn't feeling well, and now they have to find their own babysitters like everyone else! They didn't appreciate it, so they lost it. And I can't believe how much stress has ( ... )

Thanks chica! I think subconsciously I wanted Ed to cheer me up and that's why I chose that icon! I'll stare at yours a while, too. It cracks me up every time I see it. Andy is so earnest in that scene, and Ed plays it so perfectly. He can make the smallest thing hysterically funny. :-D

Wow that is amazing how much you've done for your family! I'm so glad for you that you stood up and made sure that you value your time and effort even if it seems that no one else does.

I wish I could give you some words of advice, but you know how well my family relationships are going right now, especially with my sister.

::hugs::
