Is there something wrong with me that I feel much more inclined to go march with the striking members of the WGA in NYC or LA, rather than participate in this march to the Supreme Court with my fellow lawyers to show solidarity with Pakistani judges and lawyers who were thrown in jail and put under house arrest last week ( Read more... )

I think you should go and march in whatever it is you generally wear. Not all lawyers wear suits to work.

Exactly! I was annoyed when I saw that they had specified what to wear, as if this were a black-tie dinner or something. Shouldn't it matter that I want to march, no matter what I'm wearing?

I think I'll plan on going, and I'll wear my nicest black pants. But that's as far as I'll bend! ;)

I think they just want to make an impression. Everyone is used to rag-tag hippies and such marching. But a bunch of people in business suits? Not as common. :-)
