... her display at the end-of-year Art show, of which the opening night was Monday.

It was slightly disappointing that it was only the Year 2 BTEC students, as it meant that the turnout wasn't great. Last year the show covered the whole Art department, and there were lots of people around.

She designed and made it all, of course. She hand-dyed the silk, but didn't weave or spin it herself. She is not Martha Stewart.

The flock-of-birds motif on the camisole is screen printed.

Her only nod in the direction of expediency was to build the bra on top of a bought one.
The bird motif on the bra is drawn on with a Sharpie. (It is neither a tit nor a booby.)

The little charm on the knickers (which you can't quite see) is also bird-shaped.
She didn't mine the silver herself. Lightweight.

Finally, she displayed the coat she made for a previous project, because it's such a stunning piece of work.
The college want to 'borrow' it from her to put on display. Our position is that they may BUY it from her for a sensible price, but not 'borrow'. She made it in her size, in order that she could wear it. If the college 'borrow' it she will not have it to wear, plus there is every chance that it will come back damaged, or at least so dusty as to be uncleanable.

She won an award for producing an "outstanding body of work" over the last 2 years.

For some reason, we are both inordinately proud of her.
