I'm still alive. (In case anyone was wondering.) A lot going on for me ... life got really weird in November, somehow turning into something you might read in the "Tragedy" section, like some one-chapter fic that has those THIS IS A DEATH FIC warnings at the top in the A/N

I'm sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. {{{{hugs}}}} It's good to see an update, any way. And from my perspective, 9,000 words is definitely nothing to sneeze at - way more than I've managed for a long time. Besides, the important thing is that it's still moving, not how quickly it takes.

I agree that there must be fights! And in my experience writers who are good at characterisation and claim to be bad at writing fights usually turn out to be pretty good once they actually do it. (Me, I enjoyed writing a fight scene... in the one and only finished fic where it took place. *^_^* I can't seem to plot the kind of stories where they're needed!)

Aw, thanks for the encouragement on all fronts. Nine-k is better than I was expecting to see when I ran the word count the other day. Still I find it hard not to be a bit dissatisfied with that, as it's been a while since a post and I know people are waiting. Can't say I haven't waited years for updates on stories myself (and personally I don't mind too much,) but I know how it drives others crazy. If only work didn't drain so much of my creative energy, this would probably be easier...
