Thanks! They are beautiful and they know it! Ingrid particulary is very conscious that every feather is in place and looking shiny! I'm really hoping to make a difference in a small way with a few rescued hens and inspire other chook lovers to give ex-battery birds a chance.
At the moment the girls spend part of the day in a big wired off pen with an outdoor hutch, and part of the day roaming the garden. As they get more used to their new home they will spend an increasingly longer time each day at large in the garden....but will be gently shoo'ed out of the veggie garden until the seedlings of our summer food supply grow sufficiently robust to tolerate an ccasional peck and scratch!
Oh, and Ingrid's eggs are pale peachy-brown. We'll have to wait a wee bit longe to tell Greta's, but they will likely be creamy-peach with a few brown freckles.
