Making the call to kill Bin Laden was courageous and proper, it might be one of the best calls that Obama has made in his first term. I'm proud that he did it, glad that he chose to ignore the hand wringers and the second guessers.
That being said, when you have Joe Biden out there saying, You can go back 500 years. You cannot find a more audacious plan, I think closely parsing Karl Rove's rhetoric for errors is pretty small beer. I can think of literally dozens of more audacious military maneuvers in the last 50 years. On any scale of mendacity, our Vice President wins by a country mile.
Also, while I think killing Bin Laden was entirely proper and useful, the operational benefits were modest. When you have already given up on Afghanistan and written off Pakistan, counting the killing of a nullity like Bin Laden misses the forest for the tree. Even a very malignant and hateful tree is still just one tree in a landscape that desperately needs clear cutting.
I’m telling you, man, this guy is not only smart as hell, he is absolutely ready to make the decision and stand back and live with it. No whining.
Unless it is regarding the Solyndra fiasco. Or Fox News' siphoning off the white male voters. Or the Economy he was stuck with. Or Gas Prices he can't control. Or the reception of Obamacare. Or Congressional intransigence. Or...
Don't get me wrong, I don't blame Biden for this. This is his job to shill, just like it is Rove's to spin. I just think he could be a little more subtle than your average snake oil salesman.

Also, Karl Rove's mendacity would trump Joe Biden by hundreds of country miles.

Maybe that staffer committed a Freudian slip when he made that Etch-A-Sketch comment...about the lynch and such, that is...

I don't think the president is a whiner. If he is, so is everyone else.
