On the highway between Texas and Colorado is a track that has miles upon miles of cars filled with coal, headed to furnaces through one region.

I just hope this forces industry changes, instead of creating a free market for exchanging carbon credits.

I am also concerned that carbon credits will become a form of currence in exchange for utilities. They have enough power as it is, pun unintended.

Interestingly enough, last night on Cosmos, Neil deGrasse Tyson covered two instances where solar power was at a crossroads to become a major player in supplying energy to the world. I had never heard of these before, so it was extremely informative.
