Wow you're way off base. It was a military judge, ruling under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The reason for the change is because of contradictory evidence that was presented by her own lawyers.
This isn't a conservative/liberal thing at all, this is a military thing. What the hell does Christianity have to do with this?
They are going to re-negotiate a plea deal, most likely, where she pleads "guilty" again. The judge declared a mistrial, so the charges will be redrawn and the plea bargain will be re-worked.
I went off into a rant, but to correct you, the reason was because of testimony of Graner, it's right there in the story. He testified that it was to be used for training purposes, which of course England did not say, and so the Judge decided she must have thought the same thing, and not that it was wrong
