Somebody chalked a save point over between Adams and Schiff. Right smack in the middle of the walkway, a blue circle with a white star on the inside, like a pentagram, with a circular border. And the words SAVE POINT written next to it. I stood in it and tried to use it. I hope it worked.

I saw a fireball shoot across the eastern sky.  It was a Taurid, I'm pretty sure.  It streaked downwards towards the horizon for less than a second, a flash of brilliant green as some piece of space rock incinerated in our atmosphere.

I made a wish.
