My iPod is pretty much dead. That, or I just need to replace the battery. I tried to add more songs to it, but my computer wasn't recognizing it, and the iPod just turned itself onto disk mode all on its own. Whenever I try to turn it on, it flashes a stupid exclamation point and folder and the link to the iPod support website. I want my fucking ( Read more... )

This seems to be a recurring trend with everyone's iPods recently. :( I wonder if there's anything you can do to protect it before the data completely fizzes out.

I haven't taken it to the Apple store yet, so I'm not sure the exact problem, but I have a strong suspicion that the battery is what's wrong. I'm told that can be easily and cheaply fixed, but I'd much prefer a new one. $299 for a year's worth of use doesn't seem like a great value. XDDD

My iPod died and my 5 year warantee won't even cover it.. it's sucks. And my cousin found an ipod shuffle the other day guhhhh

If you watched SNL this weekend, engrave what Suds said, "FUNKY CHICKEN PICKLE NIPPLE!" Yesssss.

I wonder why they won't cover it? They're pretty ridiculous about some of the things about the warranty. My warranty is gone by now, so I can't rely on that. I think the problem with mine is that the internal battery is almost dead, and that can be easily fixed, but I've been wanting a video one for some time now.

I MISSED SNL THIS WEEKEND. SHIT. But I did get to see Laser Cats, which was amazing. As for the engraving, I was thinking maybe, "I have friendship crushes on all my friends!" if you read Dinosaur Comics.

I'd say search for an alternative! There are so many alternatives to the iPod that are about as functional and stylish.
Personally, I'm going to get a Minidisc Recorder/player when I have the money.

Some of the Archos video mp3 players look cool, but the ones I really like are out of my price range. I like the simplicity of the iPod though, and it seems easy to work with, even though this one has caused me some headaches. I don't really think it's the iPod itself, but I think maybe the battery is on its way out.

The same exact thing happened to me. It's dead, but covered by warantee. You might as well get a video. Or a CD player/better MP3 player, iPods blow, as does the rest of the Macintosh lineup.

I used to have a CD/MP3 player, but it was just too much of a hassle to make those silly mix CDs. And those things pile up and accumulate in your room. XP
