watching every republican candidate say that they would be happy if abortion was made illegal (except for one who is known for being pro-choice but lied about it) gave me chills

so gross

and scary

Other than men making this choice for women... what?! ... the religious aspect of it gets me. Ok, you believe that abortion is murder, fine. the Christian God gave the "first humans" Adam and Eve free will. So you want to take away my God given right to make a choice? I've never understood how that made sense.

I KNOW!!!

regardless of whether or not the belief is religious... people aren't the same fricken religion as everyone else! if you don't like abortion, don't get one! if someone else gets one, it's none of your fuckin' business!

uuuugh.

ridiculous. that's what it is.
women deserve to have the right...they shouldn't have to
go to the local butcher shop to have it removed.

A lot of people say that abortion is not healthy
for women because it can often lead to suicide...
or women wanting to kill themselves.

i know, i have no problem whatsoever with people being pro-life, but when they want to make abortion illegal... to have the arrogance to think that it's their business and that they should have a say is disgusting. it makes me irrationally angry.

I'm not quite sure what my opinion is on the subject (I don't give it a lot of thought), but I can understand how pro-life people would want abortion to be illegal. First, no one is "forcing" anyone to go to a local butcher shop. Obviously, the preferred alternative is to not have an abortion at all. Second, generally, when someone takes a strong moral stance against something, especially those that consider it to be murder, they don't only apply it to themselves. Since pro-lifers consider abortion to be murder, they lump it in the same category, ethically, as shooting someone and killing them. Granted, most things are circumstantial, but murder laws aren't simply limited to cover the individual. It's somewhat of a blanket law.

yes but shooting someone on the street is a lot different than a clump if cells in someone's uterus that is using the woman as a host.

anyway, regardless of what most pro-lifers claim to be their reason ("it's murder!") but when they get down to it, a lot of them end up blurting out, "that's what women get when they spread their legs." ... as in they deserve it as a punishment for being "whores." and THAT is obviously no reason for abortion to be illegal.

the biggest problem i have with it is not women's rights (thats a close second) but the fact that they back it up with Biblical reasoning.

ever heard of seperation of church and state?
