one of the reasons 28 days later was fucking flawless was because none of the characters did anything unforgivably stupid to ruin it for everyone. they all pretty much did what any human being would do, and some of them survived while others didn't. and you know, it was original, beautifully filmed, amazingly written, etc.

28 weeks later is only ( Read more... )

28 weeks later just seems like a money-making thing to me.
28 days later was so good, there was no need for a sequel because the way it ended was perfect.

yknow.. i've heard a lot of critiques about this movie along the lines of "people did stupid things and it created chaos etc etc".. but i feel like (and keep in mind i haven't seen it, but) if it did actually happen, that would probably be much closer to what would truly occur.

i totally know what you're saying. did you see 28 days later? because, i mean, it's not like they were superheros and did everything 100% perfect, but in 28 weeks later it was RIDICULOUS. almost worse than the super-skanks in movies like i know what you did last summer.

i just meant that in 28 days later they did everything within the constraints of actual reactions. in 28 weeks later they cheated and needed to make them have dumb reactions in order to make the movie work with the plot that they picked out, whereas 28 days later was so good because these characters were realistic, but the plot moved on anyway.

I was so, so hoping this would be good. Especially with Robert Carlyle in it.

God fucking dammit.

so was i. i mean, it might be worth watching just because it's another zombie movie and it's done in the general style of the first one, but only if you won't get too angry and take it personally that it sucked like i did ;)

I'd take it personally. I fucking loved 28 Days Later.

Hell, I got mad when I heard there was a Saw 4. "BUT EVERYONE IS DEAD!"
