You have "freed" yourself from religion; it's high time that you stop strangling it.

hm. i don't think it was really a mockery of anything, but more a struggle to understand. as someone who's gone from believer to nonbeliever to somewhere there and praying to trees believer, i understand it very well. and i think it's not a mockery but more of resignation. after all, letting go of any ideology, be it political or religious entails a certain sort of personal struggle. besides, this is his point of view and if you're so very intent on commenting against it, why not identify yourself?

freedom of expression, my friend. freedom of expression. i can write about anything i want. and besides, i wrote it when i was still agnostic.

And you missed the point; the story's reality or the lack of it -- is out of the question. Atheists should keep mum on any religion as they themselves, deny allegiance to any of them.

I'm sure that the LJ owner has his/her own reasons. I just can't pinpoint his/her exact intentions in posting that disturbing story. Regardless, it doesn't justify the blasphemy that this journal has become part of.

sa tingin ko lang ay di naman niya ginusto insultuhin ang buong roman catholic religion. ang kwento ay tungkol lang sa isang lalaking lalong nawala ang katiting na pagtitiwala niya sa relihiyon na iyon dahil sa mga ginagawa sa kanya ng mga pari. yun lang. bakit, totoo rin namang may mga balita tungkol dun ah. hindi naman niya sinabi all out na ang roman catholic religion ay walang kwenta, etc. akala ko ba meron tayong freedom of expression? if you don't want to face this sort of thing, then it's better that you turn your eyes. kasi di naman tama na pag-initan mo siya dahil lang sa kwentong iyon. i've seen worse people, na pinapahiya at binibiktima ang mga christians dahil lang sa paniniwala nila. in contrast, mas mabait pa si libog dun; he wasn't trying to be imposing. sinabi ba niya straight, "be atheists! catholicism is shit!"? no. it was just a story. kung ayaw mo sa kwentong iyon, you can just shut up so that other people are free to have their own
