Title: Madrid au Courant Rating: PG-13 for language Fandom: LOTR RPS Pairing: VM/OB Author's Notes: Written for the vacation challenge at contrelamontre. Warning: A tad fluffy!
You know, after complaining with someone else about the problems of mediocre V/O fics these days, it's nice to then see an author I've never read before write a sweet story without the shmoop.
I haven't read any good V/O stuff for quite a while, and I'm glad I picked this one to read after my extended break. XP
It's quite good, even with the subtle fluff. It's happy and realistic at the same time. I can't tell you how many angst-ridden pieces I've read from other fandoms (and this one) because authors think that it's the only way for the story to seem plausible. Not that that's a bad thing, but still. It's like there's no such thing as happiness anymore.
Again, really nice. I look forward to reading some of your other stuff. :)
i agree; spain is good, but as i've never had a great interest in it before, i have to wonder at its numerous little, er, cameos, i'll call them, in my ficlets.
ah, well!
i'm really flattered by your comment, thank you! and i agree. i like (well-done) angst as much as anyone, but i wish people would venture out into the sunshine every now and then. :) i mean, angst wouldn't be angst if we weren't happy sometimes.
this was fantastic. well done. I loved this exchange: "We should go there," the voice continues in a low drone. Reminds him of bees. Orlando thinks he's awake now. "You again," he groans. "I think the heartland would be good," Viggo continues. "Kansas, maybe. We'll go to a bee farm," which thoroughly scares the hell out of Orlando. "You're fuckin' psychic," he says, and yawns in spite of himself. "Really?" Viggo smiles. "Fascinating. Coming around yet?"
I realise the quote was longer than the feedback but I loved that whole exchange. hee.
