In which I review IDW's latest Transformers Comics

This is a review. I don't do them often, but I had the urge to do this one because I like Transformers comics and I haven't been able to pick up one in a long time and say, hey this is pretty good. Do I think these ones are? Well, read on and find out.

Specifically, I am reviewing:

The only element I can think of that was totally superfluous would be the Reapers, alien cyborgs who show up to tempt Sixshot and then die cinematically.

The Reapers existed to give the rub (warning: pro-wrestling parlance!) to the Decepticons as empowered by Ore-13. We'd been shown and told, time and again, that the Reapers devastated entire worlds by themselves. To have them wiped out by Megs and his crew, so utterly, showed the 'bots were in for a world of pain when next the forces met. Of course, that never happened thanks to the soft reboot, but still it was the point.

The rest of the ‘NAILs’ put the argument a little more forcefully, lynching Prime in effigy.

My only problem with the issue was the protest. Why were the signs in English, and why was effigy!Prime being hanged? I can't imagine a noose 'round the neck would do much to a TF.

It’s not that I question for one moment that there would be friction, hostility and resentment between the two camps. It makes sense. But in order for it to be an interesting ethical debate, ( ... )
