Explain, since I never watched Dawson's Creek: Why Pacey over, say, Chuck Norris?

Because Pacey is the guy who:
a) is funny;
b) is charming;
c) is romantic;
d) is supportive (he encourages you to follow your dreams and doesn't guilt you into staying with him);
e) is the guy who buys you a wall so you can paint (or, if you were a budding drummer, finds a private studio so you can practice)to your heart's content.

It also doesn't hurt that Dawson is such a douche that any halfway-decent guy will shine in comparison.

The absence of a massive alien forehead is also a big plus. *nods*
