It's getting close to that holiday... Christmas, isn't it called? Yule? The one where friends give one another gifts to show their appreciation for each other. I should perhaps go shopping.

Does anyone know where to find, or how to judge, good alcohol?

You take a taste, darling, and if it's smooth and doesn't feel like you're drinking fire, it's a good alcohol.

Irish cream is always a safe bet.

Would you happen to know if, well, if it's considered polite to hold tasting parties? I really shouldn't keep half a dozen open bottles lying about the place, and if I don't like one, well... It seems like it would be more fun and more efficient to have more than one person trying varieties of wines and things.

Oh, very polite. And a lot of fun. Though if you have a lot of alcohol, you may want to ask people not to swallow and give them a place to spit.
