My current local library is part of a consortium that extends across several counties, which I love. But any items not in the consortium--you're out of luck: No ILL service is available. This consortia is made up of many smaller libraries--maybe 20 in all. The only problem I have with this, as a patron, is that I can't see how many holds are on an item, I think because we all share a catalog but not a circulation system. I can see if the item I want is on hold, or if all the copies are currently checked out, but when I put a hold in, I can't possibly know how long it will take me to get it, which can be frustrating ( ... )
