A friend brought me a sewing machine that was/had been discarded.  It's an older machine, and it took me some playing around with, but I got it to work.  I'm very happy with it, now I can alter some of my wardrobe and create new pieces.  I've already altered one of my dresses, and though it's not the best job (note to self: get a new pair of fabric ( Read more... )

Girl, 4, called 911 nearly 300 times - Yahoo! News

Unbeknownst to her mother, the girl used a deactivated cell phone to call dispatchers 287 times in June - sometimes as often as 20 times a shift.

I got a gift from a very nice lady in MI today.  She saw my holiday in July wish list on a craft forum and sent me one of the things on the list - seeds.  I had asked for seeds so I could experiment with growing plants.  She sent me lots of flower seeds hand harvested from her own garden.  Isn't that the sweetest?  And she sent me a link to a ( Read more... )

It was an interesting couple of hours.  I didn't barf, though I felt like it -- especially after having 6 cups of coffee (two with coffee shots) just so I could settle my nerves.  I didn't trip or fall on my face.  I didn't like going up in front of a crowd though.  I got a award pin (we all did) and we got a nice trophy.  I wonder where the boss ( Read more... )
