One of my Egyptian Boat Models Damaged

My favorite Egyptian Watercraft Model - and really, I mean my favorite and I've seen them all - was damaged by paid ruling-party thugs in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo last week. I'm so sorry to hear this! Why do people have to destroy precious things like this! What do they gain by it except a loss of one more piece of their own heritage!

Thanks for your sympathy. Really, this mode is a National Treasure.

What is really horrible, is that these guys weren't looting. They didn't steal things because they were poor and had to feed their families by selling antiquities. They were part of the Egyptian Security Force that was paid by the ruling party Mubarak government to just destroy things. Eighty artifacts/mummies were damaged. At least the two mummies that were damaged were actually fragmentary parts of Late Period mummies that were being used to teach people how to use the CT scan machine. They were already broken into pieces - but still, how can someone throw around dead people's heads like this? They did it for money and to try to secure their jobs through the ruling party by keeping Mubarak in power; their jobs are threatened if there is a Democratically-elected government in place. Horrible "people."

This is the kind of Egypt Mubarak wants. Bastard.
