I wrote this as the answer to one of those "Request a Drabble" memes for
animarelic. I figured I'd share with the rest of you.

All those missions together, Rowe should really have figured that Jack would possess one of the best poker faces in the world, let alone Ishtar. The whole reason Rowe had agreed… wait, no… had challenged Jack to this game was because of his own ego and over-confidence in his playing ability and was certain he'd win. So really, the fact that he was losing horribly was his own fault.
"I should have known better," he mumbled, picking up his cards and looking them over. "Should have challenged Claire instead. Two please." He didn't really need the two cards, he had three aces in his hand already, but this was a good way to throw Jack off for a bit.
"It'd have been too easy. You enjoy a challenge," Jack replied casually, sliding the two rejected cards to the side and dealing out two more to Rowe. He set the deck back to the side.
Rowe really couldn't disagree with that. "You're not taking any?"
"No." God, Rowe HATED that smile. Well, not true, he usually loved that smile, the way you'd have to look carefully to see the little bit of a smirk hidden inside it. But right now, he hated it.
Rowe finally picked up his new cards, and became very grateful for his super-spy training, because otherwise he'd have burst out laughing in glee. His new cards consisted of a useless two of clubs… and the fourth ace.
Oh yes, Jack was finally going down.
"So… ready for the final showdown?"
Rowe shook his head at that. "Sounding awfully smug are we?" he grinned, spreading his cards across the table.
"Something like that," and Jack put his hand down.
Three, four, five, six, seven. Hearts.
A straight freakin' flush.
And there was that smile again.
Groaning, Rowe ripped off his shorts and threw them at Jack. "And don't you dare say 'whichever you like'."
"Of course not. Winner takes top. There should be some reward after all."
