[The words "Your birthday should be something you enjoy and that has happy memories." is enough to make him slightly bitter. Between stumbling across Sora's grave, hallucinating his death as well as his own, getting into it with Sango, and you showing up in the middle of the night? There was nothing happy that occurred on his birthday, even if it was memorable.

But Sora doesn't know about the events that transpired just hours before his arrival, and he'd rather not relive that fateful day anyway. Especially not on Sora's birthday.]
