found a very old story i wrote for a class about her when i moved to NY in '98. it's funny how much influence Al seemed to have on my conversational style at the time. i'm not formatting it now because i have no time, and i recognize there are numerous other errors with it that i don't want to change - just let it be.

It's neat that you found this old story. I was very sad to hear about Holly. I didn't know her at all, but I do know what it's like to lose a beloved pet.

I'm sorry to hear that Holly is no longer with us. I always liked seeing her whenever I went to your house. She was such a friendly dog. I feel for you, Laureen; I've lost some wonderful pets myself.
