so excited to go to Brooklyn tonight and perform yoga and go to Foodswings which has the only best buffalo wings i've ever eaten. But the latter place is closed, so i am Foiled - FOILED ( Read more... )

really? from the historical perspective that's so interesting. one of the paintings from the early 1400s actually depicted that soldier sticking out his tongue while giving Jesus on the cross the sponge. interpretations, misinterpretations; representations, misrepresentations. it's so fascinating - sort of makes history seem almost alive, in a culture that easily makes you feel distant from it.

thanks for the tidbit! i'm still wary of your Rome-inspired drinks, though as a rule, i lOVe balsamic vinegar...

hungry march band is indeed spiffy.

I've seen them a couple times: once at a fundraiser in greenpoint a few years back and once at coney island where they marched into the ocean (literally).

That's so cool - and i literally stumbled upon them. Although, i must say, from their website, i was listening to some of their tracks, and wasn't as impressed as hearing them live - but isn't that how it usually is. defintely not always, just usually.

yeah, it didn't even occur to me that they would have recorded their music; I think of it as performance art (with more emphasis on performance than art)
