First off I'm ill so my filter is probably completely 100% off. Maybe it's becauase I've started to finally become an adult but a lot of things offend me about my fandom. One being some people seem to think that if you only watch two or three people on a regular basis it makes you unworthy to be in this fandom. I mean it must be nice to be able to ( Read more... )

I see what you mean. It is kinda irritating when people only write their favorite person all the time and as a Nerd fan, it's slightly unfair that he gets less than a hundred tags while the Big Three have tags in the range of 700-500, but that's as far as I go. *Everybody* has their favorite people - I only really tend to watch Critic, Chick, Ask That Guy, Todd and a bit of Snob - as long there's a nice variety of writing, who gives a shit? Why not just have fun?

I may or may not be partially responsible for this idea due to my at-one-time (and, quite possibly, still very much there) reputation for having a rather bizarre and ironic dislike of Linkara, leading me to get a bit upset with how much he appears in the fandom.

Regardless, you make a point, and considering how epically Channel Awesome has grown comparatively recently, it is ridiculously unfair to expect absolutely everyone to watch absolutely everything.

So, what I'm pretty much trying to say is: You're very much right, I apologize for whatever part in creating this whole mess I may have had and, incidentally, you are still totally badass for working full time, planning a wedding full time and being involved enough in the fandom that you've managed to pick out one of our ugly flaws. Full time.

(Sorry, there was a pattern going, I couldn't stop myself.)

Um, this. All of this.

One of about 500 reasons why I'm not... really... around anymore.

You're absolutely right, you have a life that takes priority. But honestly? Even that aside? IMO to say you have to watch EVERYONE, or even the MAJORITY, is just like telling someone they have to watch every single show on a certain television channel. Because that's what Channel Awesome is, and increasingly growing to be. A full time, serious channel. Not everyone even has INTEREST in every single show out there right now because it's just not based in something they understand or have an invested emotion in. Let alone have the time for it ( ... )

There about 50 talents, about 7 podcasts, not going into article writers for both tgwtg and blisterthumbs and other stuff too... really who has time to watch them all?

The big three, are the big three for a reason and why I drew the tri-force of geekdom. Each of them cover one of the three corners of geekdom so at least you'll lean towards one of them at least, then the others are their if they take your fancy.

I hate people like 'you have to like them all, watch them all otherwise your dumb and stupid' no your just little fan-brats that give fandoms badname at the end of the day with your bratines. You can have your own opions yes, but keep it away from my treehouse family!

Sorry, sort of went into a rant *hugs*
