I guess it's not the end of the world, i was paying the lowest rate in the area ($875 a month for 1 bed/bath) and my rent hasn't increased since I first moved in which was june of 2005. So I suppose this wasn't completely unforseen. But still. it sucks to have to pay $1200 more a year.
