My oh my! It's been a busy two weeks and then some, huh? Vacation is the best thing ever, but I tend to forget to update stuff because the computer is only used for looking stuff up real quick and checking my e-mail~
Castlefest
It was the fifth anniversary of CF this year and it was delightful <3 The weather was great, it was warm but not too hot and cool in the evning (perfect for dancing *winks*). It all started on Friday. After half a day of work, we all dressed up and made our way to Lisse. I don't think I can capture the atmosphere of CF in a few words to make you understand what dreamy world we stepped into when we got there. It's like you leave everyday behind to be there where the people are friendly and kind, where there are no hard feelings and good music rules supreme.
Friday night was fun. There was a fire show, with acrobats and fire eaters, but because I'm not that tall for a Dutchie, I hardly saw anything. But they had good music and everytime they threw a flaming baton into the air, I caught glimpses. We did a lot of silly things that night. And made a lot of silly pictures *giggles* I'll be placing those onto my FB account soon, when Liz will send me the Sat and Sun pictures. Maybe I should nag a little harder and have her upload them.
Then there was Saturday. Pam. Mika, Maru and me had decided to dress ourselves according to the four elements. Once we were al together, the photographers wouldn't let us take a breather! xD That was fun. Secretly, I'm a whore for attention and having all of those camera's pointed at us was fun <3 Though after a short while, it grew a little uncomfy, like "Come on, people. I need to be somewhere!! Leame 'lone!!" It was fun, though. especially the fact we matched together nicely made me feel really happy. Big Flowers rule.
Sunday was the 'take it easy' day. Dancing, shopping, napping, you name it. We did it. Noteworthy for the Sunday: there were fans (the ones you use to fan yourself, not screaming people. Though those were there as well o.O). And ravens. And dancing with fans and ravens. It was great. Some girl I know told me: "There was this girl dancing with a red fan. And I was like: lookit that moron dancing with the red fan! And then she turned and I was like: Whoa, I think that's Lidy!" *laughs madly* She was making fun of my dancing, but who cares?! I had fun!!
It was very hard to come back to reality on Sunday night. Getting back into the car and drive back to the everyday world. CF is out of my system atm (the weather's not as nice anymore and I've been running around like headless chicken to get stuff done), but I distinctly remember it knda hurt to leave Lisse. Is that weird and geeky? Too detached from reality? *thinks about it* Either way, I'll be looking forward to next year. And the Anniversary DVD!
Vacation time!
Whoa, after CF my vacation began. Three weeks of bliss. I'm at two weks now and loving it. The first week was filled with doing all kinds of things: hanging out with Lies, going to a Lacuna Coil concert (omfg, those people ROCK), visiting the beach, RP'ing and packing stuff for my house.
When I got the key that next Monday, I was overjoyed. We went to the apartment right after I had officially become the owner to get the wooden floor out. We managed to do that in one day, but theeeeen~ We started looking at the walls. The plaster could be torn off without a hitch - it hadnt attached to the concrete wall very well *pouts* So now we have to take it all off and do it again. And while we were at it, Michael took a look at the electrical wiring and found that it was very old and rugged. It would be better if I changed the wiring, too to prevent short circuit. Plus, he told me, it'd be prettier if I lowered all of the sockets to floor heigth instead of waist heigth. But he only told me after he'd already drilled hole in the walls and ceilings to get stuff right, so I had to go along no matter what. It kinda upset me, to see my apartment being demolished. Becaue it was a house when I got in there and it's a dump now~
But as long as I keep in mind that it's going to be pretty, it'll be okay. It'll prolly take another two months to turn the dump into my little palace, but I'll get there. In the mean time, I'll be lurking around doing stuff. Lotsa stuff.
