My whole contention for this season's Buffy has been that the writers have maintained a single goal - "Let's see how badly we can screw with everyone. Any time something bad can happen, it will, and any time a character is faced with a decision, they'll make the most weak-will and spineless one available."
And it's pissing me off. A little tragedy is fine now and again, but this is just becoming a pathetic and obvious attempt to "Keep people watching!" with soap-opera like poo instead of actual solid plot design.
... not that I'm bitter about watching my favorite show go down the crappah. If anything, hopefully this will be a step towards getting away from that exceedingly lame "Magic is like alcohol! Don't drink and chant!" part of the show.
