Yesterday a lightning stroke killed my computer. I suppose it is irreperably damaged. Unfortunately, my counsellor in all things technical is currently on a holiday. Oher help is on the way, but they didn't give me much hope ( Read more... )

Hmmmm... LJ ate my comment.

Anyway, like I said (twice now, dear LJ monster) - I'll miss you! I hope it works out so that you're at least able to find a temporary solution and that the whole thing won't get too expensive - there are so many nicer ways to spend one's money, after all. Feel free to e-mail me at dipsas2001@yahoo.de; if that's easier, I'd be happy to send you my workplace e-mail as well, but in an e-mail. We can't have a fellow LJ-er stranded around the release of Book Six!

Oh no! I've had that happen. Now whenever I hear a storm, whether during the day or the dead of night, I run quickly to the computer, shut it down and disconnect it from its cable modem and the power.

I hope you are able to get your computer up and running soon.
