Just started the process to change my electricity provider. Once it goes through, I will have 100 percent renewable energy. After the latest statements from my current provider, who owns several nuclear plants which are supposedly all totally safe (even though it's known that containment could be destroyed by even a small private planes, plus all ( Read more... )

My parents have something like that, too, at their tiny regional provider (the main website of said provider informs people of changes made to Anrufsammeltaxis in the villages, that's how big it is). I'm trying to get them to change, but I guess they might choosing that provider's 100 percent water power option. I suppose that should be okay, because the provider naturally does not own its own nuclear plants that it wants to continue to run.

Funnily enough, if my energy use stays as it is (it's a bit high because all warm water comes through Durchlauferhitzer), things with the new provider will actually be cheaper for me than my last yearly RWE bill, and they have raised their prices since then.
