I'm partial to Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid myself as well. However I DO love Sleeping Beauty. It never bothered me that the artwork was overstylized. I think there was a harsh starkness to it as well that's hard to describe. *sigh* I miss hand drawn animation!

It is beautiful and works with the story. I guess I just felt like I was reading an illustrated book, not watching a film. I've always prefered soft, fluid animation and design. It's less beautiful but much more expressive.

I miss hand drawn, too... but you do know it's coming back? Ron Clements and John Musker are directing The Frog Princess, and it sounds really good so far. And I think I read that John Lasseter has decided that all future Disney animations will be hand drawn in the future.

Well, I think that the illustrated book thing was a nice affect in Sleeping Beauty- almost like it's a bedtime story. Generally I do prefer the fluid soft desgin too, but I make exceptions!

I really hope that hand drawn makes a comeback! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

This is kinda interesting to read since I've never looked at an animated (disney) movie like you have. <3

the real reason i wanted to comment though is omg your L icon is great! did you watch the live action movie of death note? i'm not sure if i can bring myself to watch it since misamisa is not blond. XD

YEAH I started watching the anime and then the movie which was awesome. I love Death Note, and that's saying something because I hardly ever get into anime/manga. (Um I did love Princess Tutu, but that was GOOD.)

That's kind of the same with me & manga. The only manga I've actually bought volumes of is Death Note, it's just that good. I haven't watched the anime or the movie yet but I've heard some good things about both so I just might watch it afer all. :P
