Giggles and soft yapping filled the room as the rolled around with Chekov, licking at his face while the ensign tickled and scratched the puppy's sides and behind his ears.
Everyone looked on with fond smiles as their youngest played with the dog.
Chekov sat up with a great beaming smile on his face, his arms rapped firmly around the squirming, shaggy, South Russian Ovcharka puppy, his curls rumpled and and his eyes bright and hopeful. "Keptin! Ve can keep him yes? He is fellow Russian even! He vouldn't be any trouble, I promise!"
The young Russian's puppy-dog eyes would put the actual puppy's to shame any day. How could anyone say no?
