“No. There’s no way yer gettin’ me on tha’ screamin’ death metal death trap! I don’t trust tha’ hunk o’ scrap metal! All tha’s holdin’ ye in is tha’ tiny little harness! Le’ alone the physics o’ tha’ thing!
“Pasha, how can ye o’ all people want tae ride these blasted things? Ye better’n anyone understan’ the physics o’ this contraption!” Scotty’s arms flailed miserably as he ranted at his Russian lover.
Chekov sighed dramatically and ran his hands reassuringly up and down the Scotsman’s arms. “Monty, it is because I understand the physics zat I vant to ride zem. I know all of the variables and how it works! You know you are going to ride zem vit me.”
The engineer eyed him warily as they moved even further up the line. “Oh? An’ how d’ye intend to convince me then?”
Chekov smiled deviously up at the poor frazzled man and stood up on his tiptoes to kiss his cheek, and met his gaze with his best I’m-adorable-and-you-love-me eyes, “Because you vould not vant me to go alone.”
Scotty let out a defeated groan and dropped his forehead to rest on the navigators, “Tha’s nae fair Pasha. Aye, I’ll go on that confounded contraption wit’ ye.”
Chekov beamed up at him as they moved into their seats, and got strapped in. The Scot had a white knuckle grip on the bars holding them in, before a hand reached for his and laced their fingers together. He looked over and smiled weakly at his Pasha. Chekov brought their hands to his face and kissed the back of his hand. “You are so brave. Just vait until I take you on ze vooden one!”
All the color drained out of Scotty’s face. “W-wooden?”
