But there is a difference between doing something bad in a pre-existing war and starting a war for no good reason in the first place. There's something like 1,000,000 excess deaths due to violence in Iraq and about 2,000,000 people made homeless or refugees for no real benefit to anyone.
It's different, I suppose, in that war on Germany had a point, but bombing Dresden was spectacularly pointless. But to be clear, I don't disagree with your point about Blair.
Well, bombing Dresden was an act of terrorism - it was designed to cause fear and panic and by all reports that's what it did.
By any reasonable metric, the invasion of Iraq has not furthered anyone's policy aims, unless your aim is "fucking up the Middle East even worse than it was before, thus inciting impressionable young men to blow themselves up on public transport".
