Let's have more Crossings!
I have to say, I was touched by the last scene between Jack and Syd more than anything else I'v seen tonight. After all the horrible events that just took place, with seeing Vaughn and Lauren added on top of it, the hug from Jack was exactly what's needed to save Syd. Syd and Vaughn was always there, we know that eventually, the moment they had in the cell will come in one way or another. But seeing Jack and Syd together, the hug that was finally aired this time, was just the most fulfilling to watch. Jack was hardly in Syd's life in the past, and seeing this really reassured that she'll always have someone solid in her life.
Like I expected, Vaughn didn't tell Syd more than what I wanted. As a matter of fact, they were all in incomplete sentences. I admit, when Syd hushed him, I yelled out "You don't know! Let him go on! You do want him to do this!!" I knew that Syd was going to tell him that they'll always find each other, but I didn't expect her to lean in and tell him. And that, made all the difference in the world. It was sooooooo much better than what I had imagined (unlike the funeral). The S/V just hit me right then and there. I felt the S/V.
I laughed out loud when Syd told Vaughn that she slept with Will. I lovedlovedloved "How am I suppose to react to this?" It was hilarious! She didn't have to tell Vaughn that she slept with Will. So the fact that she did, meant clearly, that she still had this obligation to be honest with Vaughn despite the fact that she had the rights not to. So I guess in some ways, they were still a couple in another dimension. Why not.
As much as a jerk Vaughn was being on the plane, I somehow couldn't take him seriously. I don't know why. Maybe because it's so obvious that he didn't mean any of it. Or maybe because he's just so hot that it's hard to get mad at him? Regardless, Syd would not take any bullshit from anybody (doesn't Vaughn know that already?), so props to her for giving him an ouch.
Syd "panicked" in the airplane gave me a flashback of the time when Vaughn panicked at Syd's driving to chase Sloane.
Lauren really does look better when she's evil. She just has this glow. I can't really pinpoint what it is exactly. Perhaps is because I put down my S/V guard now whenever I see her, that the "hate" is no longer there. Sark looked really good in this episode (loved the arrogance/truth in parking garage). At one point, when he was sitting at the table, I was doing a double take b/w him and Vaughn cause it seemed like he was hotter. Yeah, I'm so shallow. But the only conclusion I came up with was that he was simply clean, that's all. Vaughn is still in the lead. Hmm, notice how I dedicated this paragraph to the baddies?
I'm so happy that Jack got hooked up! Man, I can't imagine how lonely this man has been. Geez, after Irina betrayed him the first time, which was several years, then he meets Irina again, and he had a one time thing, and then nothing probably happened several years after that, leading up to the point when he saw Syd again...yeah, a kiss for this man was needed. Anyway, the whole thing was so cute. I was left with glee. Isabella Rossellini turned out to be a really good thing for the show. Seeing all this though, made me miss Irina tremendously. She's the original Sydney Bristow.
The only small thing that bothered me was seeing Vaughn getting all smiley when he saw Lauren at the end. Didn't he just tell Syd that she was "the only person..."?? Ok, so he didn't finish the sentence (btw, this was the point when I yelled at Syd to shut up), but let's all assume that he meant (and he did) to say "the only person in my life that I truly ever-oh-so loved." Then, I see him getting all smiley just at the sight of Lauren. It's not the smile that bothered me, it's the fact that the smile seemed so genuine. That bothered me.
I loved this episode. This was the episode that should've aired last time after all the anticipation, then have a kinda sucky one to follow. But things only get better and better. Once again, JJ kicked ass. I adore him.
Now we have to wait WEEKS before a new one! DAMNIT! They gave us a good one and now we have to wait for a century. I see how it is. ABC SUCK!
