We all have one of those chairs at work (well, the one-step down style) and if I ever were to buy a new office chair, I'd save up for one of them. I NEVER get a back ache after work and I literally only get up to pee in 8 hours, I don't even take lunch breaks usually. So I'd say you're a smart man baughman.
Mike and I are going to go see Zodiac some time this week, wanna join us? Also, sorry I couldn't say more than "um.. hi guys!" when getting off the train the other day. bad timing.
That is one sweet chair. You can do the formula that I do for slightly expensive clothing. Figure out how many times you think you'll wear it, and how much it'll cost you each time. So, if your chair will last 12 years (or probably much, much longer), you're looking at less than 100 bucks a year for back comfort. That's less than 10 bucks a month. I think it's worth it, pal.
Hey, I forgot to tell you, the christmas card you sent me was amazing. I love the detailed month-by-month description. you have inspired me to make one very soon and send them off. It's a good project to do just to remember everything that has gone in the last year, and I would love to hear more detailed descriptions about what people have been up to. Perhaps we can con more people to do the same?
i think we should totally con more people into doing it. so many of you guys have great stories, too. i love reading about whats going on. my address was fucked up on the letter though - so make sure you send it to 5860 SW lander #102, not #201. whoops.
yeah, it's really crazy how they projected it. It's from behind, but they didn't have enough room so they had to bounce it off a couple different mirrors. The material is this really cool textured plastic, and to make things even more complicated it's curved slightly . We didn't have to figure this all out though, we just handed off a 1024x768 video file and they (the museum) did all the crazy calculations.
They have 9 (i think) projectors hooked up in the planetarium theater...and I know they have to go in there and adjust them at least once a day...so I bet this project was a cakewalk for them.
They're part of the new wing dedicated to evolution at the American Museum of Natural History. We created eight 45-second motion graphic montages based around language, tools, dance, and art. There are two eight-foot wide screens next to each other, for a combined 16-foot wide projection.
I wish people could ACTUALLY interact with it (ie: grab the shapes, throw them around, etc.) but it's cool nonetheless that people even try.

You can never pay too much for a truly comfortable chair.
