Nil by Mouth/Fabulous Superstar/This week

Dec 12, 2005 21:58

Damn. Lost my voice this weekend. At least I had fun doing it. Tired vocal cords embarrased me in my musical performance. I'm squeeky at best. Must rest this week and do as little talking as possible so I am ready for next Friday's performance. I'm a talker...this is going to be difficult. Any healthy suggestions for a cure ( Read more... )

Girl, I got your VM...I'm glad you told me who you were cuz your voice is so squeaky I couldn't have figured it out on my own. Thanks for calling - I'm sorry I missed the TV show - I was out buying fabric - my new addiction. ::grin::

ADVICE on the voice: lots of slippery elm. I buy it in powder from the bulk section and just put it in my tea. If you can handle the texture, your voice will thank you!

I hope I get a chance to see you perform soon. You are indeed a fabulous superstar! :-)

Sending you blessing.

I'm voiceless ATM, too. I was pretty bad on Saturday before a big concert, so I sucked on lemon halves for a couple of hours beforehand. Make sure you have plenty of water and chapstick on hand! Keep the cords warm and rested, of course. Sleep helps.

Hey Jukie, I joined your network today.

There is an herbal tincture called singers saving grace..i believe it has slippery elm and a few other herbs. Also traditional medicinals has a throat coat tea with the slippery elm, licorice, ginger etc...

And finally, gargle with salt water girl. It really helps. I am at the tail end of my sore throat.
